Client: Sharkey's Wing and Rib Joint
Info: Sharkey's Wing and Rib Joint is a local chain restaurant and bar. They have a lengthy menu, previously ten pages in length, I organized it into a convenient trifold design. My goal was to create a design that was as easy for the user as possible, while also communicating the fun, bold atmosphere of the restaurant. A drink menu is also in progress.
I’m on a mission to do what I love. I’m a self-taught graphic/web designer. Everyday I’m trying to learn some new skill, while also freelancing and working an almost full-time job.
I’ve learned so much over these past two years, not just about design, but about myself, my goals, interests, etc. I almost want to say I’ve learned more than when I was in college, but I’m not trying to degrade my education.
Anyway, here’s what I’ve figured out:
- I love to learn - Deep down I really want to know/experience/create/discover everything ever. Being reasonable about life, for the time being I’ve settled on two areas of study, design and food; hence the name “Fresh Flavor”.
- I want an awesome job - I want to work in a place where my co-workers want every aspect of their job to be the best it could be. A place where I am proud of my work, and that of my co-workers. An organization that will never stop challenging me, and will inspire me to learn. Is that too hopeful? I know there’s a few out there that exist.
